How to tell if a mango is ripe
A ripe mango feels firm to the touch but gives slightly when you press it.
- The fruit should be firm to the touch, but should slightly yield to pressure.
- The skin should be tight, not wrinkled.
- The skin may show areas of green, yellow, and red/orange.
- An unripe mango is usually green, sometimes with a reddish tinge near the stem.
Too far gone: Wrinkly, soft fruit are overripe.
